If you haven’t
paid your subs by the time the next newsletter is distributed then I am afraid
you will not be getting yours. Your Insurance ran out on the 31st

I will not be
at the next meeting but there will be someone there to take your money. If you
send it by post then please enclose a self addressed envelope.

March meeting
Now March is
the month for the Annual General Meeting or AGM as it is known. The month when
we all have a chance to change things if we so desire. The chance for members
to have their say on the way things are run. Don’t be shy – say what you think.
This meeting
doesn’t last long as a rule so David has arranged for a Picture Quiz to be held
after the official business. Making use of the projector we purchased for the
club he has devised a quiz that has two answers to each question. He guarantees
you will be able to answer one of each question so you will at least total a
half score at the end. Come along and enjoy yourselves.
Febuary Meeting
We have one of
our famous auctions for the February meeting, so bring along all you have no
longer any use for. And please do not set any reserve too high as this seems to
put people off bidding. Quite often when the bidding is left unrestricted the
selling price reaches the desired level anyway. Bring your bits and your money
and Kevin will try to extract both of them from you. 10% of the selling price
is deducted for club funds and the remaining 90% is returned to the seller. See
you there.
January meeting
We enjoyed
another very interesting talk from Pip Wright. This time his subject was about
a local woman, Margaret Catchpole. The story, with pictures, dealt with her
life from being in service to her two death sentences and her subsequent
deportation to Australia. I am sure every one present enjoyed the talk.
