Club Rules
IPSWICH & DISTRICT DETECTOR CLUB (IDDC)
1. MEMBERSHIP
1.1 Any person may join the club unless paragraph 1 applies. However, if the membership total is harmful to the club site and there appears no other solution, a majority decision at a monthly meeting may close the membership for that year.
1.2 Annual subscriptions fall due on 1st April each year. On payment of the subscription a person becomes a member for that year or for the remainder of that year and immediate relatives of a paid up member, e.g. Spouse or children 16 years or under, automatically become family members of the club.
1.3 The club is affiliated with the National Council for Metal Detecting and each paid up member is automatically a N.C.M.D. member. Family members are not included and any wishing to join must pay separate N.C.M.D. subscriptions.
1.4 Each member when engaged in the hobby should conduct themselves in a manner that maintains the club's good name and enhances that of the hobby, particularly with land-owners and archaeologists. Anyone who seriously discredits the reputation of the club may be expelled or suspended on a majority decision at a monthly meeting. However, there must be three or more members complain before the meeting is required to judge the issue and the person complained of should be given the chance to put his/her case. The club may refuse membership to any person whose joining is considered detrimental to the club's reputation.
2. OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE OF THE CLUB
2.1 The club shall have a President and the following Officers :
(1) Chairman
(2) Vice Chairman
(3) Secretary
(4) Treasurer
(5) Membership Secretary
(6) Editor
(7) Public Relations Officer
(8) Monthly competition Organiser
(9) Auctioneer
(10) Rally Organisers (3 in number)
(11) Site Officer
(12) Raffle Organiser
and up to 6 committee members with no specific duties, each for a term of 3 years.
Officers will be elected each year.
2.2 One member may hold two or more posts except that the Chairman may not at the same time hold posts 3 or 4.
2.3 All posts will be elected annually at the AGM. Posts becoming vacant after the AGM may be filled by a member being co-opted at the committees discretion majority decision at a monthly meeting. However, there must be three or more members complain before the meeting is required to judge the issue and the person complained of should be given the chance to put his/her case.
